Grandma Smith's Crochet - "Peggy" pillowcase lace

Shown:DMC cotton #30, steel crochet hook size 10



R1: Crochet a chain of length of desired edging, using a multiple of 6 st plus 3, ch 5, turn
R2: in 9th ch from hook 1 dc, * ch 2, sk 2 ch, 1 dc, repeat from * to end of ch, ch 2, turn
R3: * 2 dc in ch-2 sp, 1 dc in next dc, ch 2, sk 2 ch, 1 dc in next dc, repeat from * to last dc at end of row, 2 dc in last sp, 1 dc in next ch immediately following, ch 5 turn
R4: 1 dc in 4th dc, * 2 dc in sp, 1 dc in next dc, ch 2, sk 2 dc, 1 dc in next dc, repeat from * to end of row, ch 2, turn
R5: in 1st ch-2 sp (1 dc, ch 2, 2 dc), * ch 2, in next ch-2 sp (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc), repeat from * to end of row, ch 3, turn
R6: * in next ch-2 sp (4dc, ch 2, 4 dc), sk 1 ch-2 sp, repeat from * to end of row, ending with (4 dc, ch2, 4 dc) in the last sp.

Repeat R1 through R6 for length desired.
