R7: 2 dc in ch-2 sp, 1 dc in next dc, ch 2, sk 2 ch, 1 dc in next ch, 11 dc in the arch chain lp, ch 3, then work 11 more dc in the arch chain lp. Pause here to spread the dc's evenly in the arch and center the ch-3 sp at the top of the arch. You now need to join the arch to the main skinny strip of filet crochet. You do this by using a slip stitch to attach to the closest point... this is the base of dc on the end of row worked 2 rows previously. Then you will move up to the next row level by doing ch 3 and then use another sl st to attach to the filet crochet again, by skipping 2 ch's along the side of the filet crochet before inserting hook to do the sl st. Turn.
R8: 1 dc in ea of 11 dc, 2 dc in sp, ch 3, 2 dc in same sp, 1 dc in each of 12 dc, ch 2, sk 2 ch, 1 dc in next dc, sk 2 dc, 1 dc in top of ch-3, ch 3, turn
R9: 2 dc in ch-2 sp, 1 dc in next dc, ch 2, sk 2 ch, (1 dc, ch 2, sk 1 dc) 6 times, 1 dc, ch 2; in the ch-3 sp do (1 dc, ch 2) 3 times, (1 dc in next dc, ch 2, sk 1 dc) 6 times, sl st in top of filet adjacent, turn
R10: (ch 4, 1 sc in ch-2 sp) 17 times, ch 4, 1 dc in next dc, ch 2, sk 2 ch, 1 dc in next dc, ch 2, sk 2 dc, 1 dc in top of ch-3, ch 3, turn

Repeat R3 through R10 for the length desired.
